Nigeria:  NUC to Introduce 12 New Programmes in Nigeria: n Universities

The National Universities Commission (NUC) is set to introduce 12 new programmes into Nigerian university curricula to address emerging global trends and enhance employability. These additions aim to equip students with the skills necessary for the 21st century.

New Programmes: Artificial Intelligence, Classical Christian Education, Community Health Science, Cooperative Economics and Management Studies, Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science, Geomatics Engineering, Intelligence and Security Studies, Parasitology and Entomology, Sports Management, Telecommunication Science, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Islamic Economics and Finance.

Curriculum Integration: These programmes will be incorporated into the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) following validation by stakeholders.

NUC’s Role: The NUC oversees the implementation and accreditation of these programmes across universities.
