The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has announced a boycott against the telecom companies MTN, Airtel, and Glo starting at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025. This action is in response to recent increases in their charges. The NLC, led by President Joe Ajaero and Secretary Emmanuel Ugboaja, is asking these companies to cancel the new higher prices and return to the old ones while discussions continue. The boycott will happen every day from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM until the end of February 2025. If the companies don’t reduce their prices by February 29, 2025, the NLC plans to shut down telecom services nationwide starting March 1, 2025.The NLC is taking these steps because they believe the companies are being unfair and that the government isn’t doing enough to protect people from being overcharged. They are asking other groups and all Nigerians to support their protest against these high charges.
