Notorious Bandit Pretending To Be A Soldier Finally Caught As Soldiers Tear Down Secret Hideout

According to the Guardian, soldiers from the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested a wanted bandit after pretending to be a soldier during a recent raid in Taraba State.

The army shared the news on Friday, saying the arrest was made possible through helpful tips from local residents.

The arrest happened during a special mission called Operation Lafiyan Jamaa and during the raid, soldiers also found weapons and bullets.

On April 16, after a local hunter raised an alarm, soldiers stormed a hideout in Dutsen Kachalla, Lau LGA. Although the criminals escaped into the hills, the troops found an AK-47 magazine, rifle parts, military headwear, and an ID card with the name Adamu Umaru Jauro.

Then, on April 19, following a new tip, the troops caught Yusuf Hammadu also called “Dogo” in Lainde Jessy, Lau LGA. He has been on wanted list by the security forces for a long time and was one of the most deadly criminals in the area.

The army said they remain committed to keeping Taraba State safe and asked people to keep sharing helpful information with them in order to help them put a stop to banditry and terrorism.
