The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 23-year-old man in connection with a burglary and the alleged assault of a 47-year-old woman. The incident took place in the Ikotun area of Lagos at approximately 3:00 a.m. on March 26, as confirmed by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.
According to Hundeyin, “She alleged the suspect broke into her room and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.” The woman claimed that the intruder forcefully sleep with her, prompting her to cry out for help. Her screams attracted the attention of a nearby neighbor, who rushed to assist her.
In a troubling turn of events, the suspect reportedly attacked the neighbor with a sharp object, causing injuries to his forehead. The swift response of a police patrol team led to the suspect’s arrest at the scene. Both the victim and the injured neighbor were subsequently taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
