During a grand reception with the Kalabari people in Rivers State, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike addressed rumors about his attendance. He stated that he chose to be there despite claims he would not, affirming that the event should continue.
In a video aired by TVC, Wike expressed appreciation for the local council chairman, women, and youth, wishing God’s blessings upon them. Although he typically avoids such gatherings, he felt it important to support the community.
Wike confronted the rumors, questioning who was spreading them and how many there were. His comments reinforced his commitment to engaging with the Kalabari people, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration for their progress.
Wike said,
“Our dear chairman of the Council, our dear women and youths, let me say that God, in His infinite mercy, will continue to bless all of you. Ordinarily, I don’t like things like this. When I heard some people say I would not come here, I said I would come here, and I say this occasion must go on. Who them be and how many them dey”
